Event Overview

This orienteering event is part of the South West Essex Local League and is predominantly aimed at regular orienteers, both adult and junior. As a “Local” event, BOF Ranking points are not available.
Beginners are welcome, and some of our coaches intend to attend and will be happy to help beginners. Of the available “colour-coded” courses, we would recommend a White or Yellow course for junior beginners (depending on age) and Yellow or Orange for most adult beginners. Courses Green and Blue are the most technical courses and are not usually suitable for beginners.

Equipment and Electronic Timing

A compass is useful, but not essential on beginners courses.

Safety

Full leg cover is recommended.

Please be considerate of other park users including cyclists, horse riders and members of the general public. The area is popular with dog walkers. You must report to “download” at the registration point even if you do not finish the course.

Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at this event but any mess must be cleared up, and they must be kept under control at all times.
