Event Overview

This forest event includes courses suitable for a range of abilities. The White and Yellow courses are suitable for beginners and younger juniors, Orange and Light Green for older juniors and adult beginners wanting a more challenging course. The Green and Blue courses have the greatest level of difficulty, with the Blue providing the longest course lengths. These two courses are aimed at experienced orienteers. The event also counts towards South West Essex Local League (Round 2) for 2014/15. This is an individual league open to all.

Car Park

For Nursery Road follow the postcode IG10 4BW – taking you to the Smarts lane Nursery Road Junction.

Overflow parking in Connaught Avenue and other adjacent streets.


By road: From High Road Loughton, turn onto Warren Hill then right into Nursery Road.

Public Transport: Nearest station is Loughton (Central Line), a 0.7 mile walk.

Courses close: 1:00 pm


White 1.4km 8 controls

Yellow 2.2km 10 controls

Orange 3.0km 9 controls

Light Green 3.5km 13 controls

Green 4.6km 12 controls

Blue 6.7km 18 controls (Note: two crossings of a road on this course).
