Directions: From A12 leave at the Green Man roundabout in Leytonstone.  Take the northbound A11 (marked A1199 on some maps) towards South Woodford. Continue on A11 at fork then turn right at next traffic lights onto Wanstead High Street.  Immediately turn right into Station Approach and drive to entrance of NCP car park in Snaresbrook station. From the A406 (North Circular) leave at A104 junction and head south on A104.  After 1.2 miles take first left at roundabout onto A114.  At next roundabout (Green Man) take first left onto A11 towards South Woodford.  Then as above.  Please do not use Snaresbrook Road, as this is crossed by competitors on several courses.

Car Park & Registration: GR TQ401888, Snaresbrook Central Line Tube Station car park £1;   postcode: E11 1QE. Where possible, share transport or take the Tube.[mappress]

Terrain: Largely flat, a mixture of open land and dense forest with an extensive path network, but with enough detail to make it a fair navigational challenge.  Recent rainfall has turned many depressions, pits and marshes into ponds.

Safety: With the exception of White and Yellow courses, courses cross and recross a busy road, so competitors are asked to use marshalled crossing points or pedestrian crossings.  Please be considerate of other forest users including cyclists, horseriders and members of the general public.  The southern section close to the Start is popular with dog walkers.  Look out for cars when leaving and entering Snaresbrook Station car park on foot.  Dogs to be kept under control.

Facilities: Clothing dump available at the Start. Toilets at the event centre (scout hut) opposite the station car park.  Tea, coffee and cake will be on sale.  Toilets  also available to shoppers at Tesco near Green Man roundabout (700 m south of the Start).

Courses: White 1.3 km(Beginners); Yellow 1.8 km(Improvers); Orange 3.0 km(Improvers); Light Green 3.1 km(Experienced);  Green 5.2 km(Experienced); Blue 5.8 km(Experienced);  Brown 7.3 km(Experienced).
