Club Competitions

Compass Sport Trophy update:

The main event of the last month was the Compass Sport Tropy Competition at Burnham Beeches last weekend. You probably know by now that we didn’t get through to the final, but I would still like to thank everyone that came along, particularly those who entered longer courses than they usually run, or who turned up to run despite being injured or even ill! Hopefully no-one was hailed on for too long.  Who knows? If we’d had a couple of juniors, we may well have won.

The day before we held a very success family orienteering day, based at the Epping Forest Visitor Centre. Over 50 people attended and Tim is now busy trying to recruit new members for next year’s Compass Sport Trophy team!

Don’t forget the SE Score Champs on 15th April!

Notable Performances

Interland

Meanwhile, Ruby Campbell was in Belgium competing in the Interland competition and helping England to a 13th successive victory against Germany, Belgium & the Netherlands. Despite worries over her fitness and atrocious weather, Ruby finished 4th in the D60+ class – definitely a notable performance! See the “Interland 2007 Results” item on the News section of the BOF website (www.britishorienteering.org.uk/asp/news.asp?news=O) for a team photo. Ruby’s at the back looking a little taller than usual! Look out for Ruby’s account of the event in the next ChigChat.
