About the League
This is a series of 4 friendly, straightforward orienteering events in parks in Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Newham and Tower Hamlets. A great way to learn orienteering or improve the skills you already have. Find as many controls as you can in a 45 minute time limit.
The League is aimed to cater for juniors, adult beginners and improvers, but events may be of interest to more experienced orienteers also.
The 2013 dates in the Saturday Parks League are:
- Wanstead Park, 14 September
- Victoria Park, 12 October
- Fairlop Waters, 9 November
- Valentines Park, 14 December
The points scored at each event (adjusted for time penalties or time bonuses) will count towards the league. So if you get all 25 controls you earn 25 league points. The best three events (from four) count towards the 2013 league.

If you want to set-up a mini-league, think of a name for the mini-league and add it to your entry details when registering. Make sure you tell your friends or class mates of the name of the mini-league so they can join it too!
We will also have some aged based mini-leagues as well as mini-leagues for “Adult Beginners”, “Adult Improvers”, Scouts and Guides, and mini-leagues for residents of the nearby London Boroughs.
