Seven Sisters (North) – POSTPONED
263 High Road
London N15 4RR
UK
Given the continued uncertainty following a change to the BOF Insurance Policy for night-time events, we have taken the decision to postpone Thursdays event at Seven Sisters until next month (after the clocks change). We had hoped to have received clarification from BOF regarding the application of the rule to urban street events, but this has not been forthcoming to date. We shall post a new date shortly.
If you are looking for an alternative event, SLOW are hosting a night (not a street) event on Thursday at Richmond Park. Bring your headtorch!
Event Overview
The format of this evening event makes it suitable for both adult beginners and experienced adult orienteers alike. Juniors may only participate if accompanied by an adult. Walk or run and see how many locations you can find within the one hour time limit. The map is not very technical at this event – click here for a sample of the simple map type used!

Courses
A one hour score course, with control sites worth between 10 and 50 points, mostly, but not exclusively according to how far away they are. You will be given a choice of three answers – mark the correct one when you see the control.
This is a control visiting event! Circling answers at controls you have not visited, on the off chance you get it right, is cheating. Answers must be marked in race time.
Your score will be reduced by 2% of the points scored for every minute or part minute late.
League Scoring
The leading man and woman will score 100 points, second place 99 etc. In addition, your score will be increased by a multiple depending on your age and sex, and the resultant points used in the same way for a handicap competition.
Map & Terrain
The map is 1:10,000, with streets, paths and open areas marked. It will be printed on waterproof paper, with the clues on the back.
Results
Results will be available after the event at www.chig.org.uk.
Equipment
You are advised to bring a torch and compass, as well as a pen to mark your answers. The traffic is generally not heavy or fast, but light coloured clothing for extra visibility is advised. We hope to use electronic timing, so bring your own dibber if you have one.
Aprés Run
We are grateful to the Pequena Mexican Grill for permission to use their premises, and hope you will stay behind to try out their food and drink.
