Olympic Park training event & social
Learn or improve your orienteering skills with this training event at the Olympic Park. We will be using the permanent orienteering courses based in the park and the training should last for approximately one hour. You do not need to be a club member to attend – all are welcome.
Meeting Point
Meet next to the Table Tennis tables outside of Timber Lodge.
Travel
It is recommended to come by public transport where possible, to either Hackney Wick (Overground) or Stratford International (DLR, South Eastern). Stratford (bus, Central, Jubilee, Overground, TFL Rail, Greater Anglia, DLR) is a slightly further walk from the station to the start.
What Will I Learn?
For beginners: Club members will be in attendance who can help you interpret the map and offer tips on how to navigate successfully before trying one of the courses available.
For club members: We will focus on various techniques that will help you with urban orienteering, plus you will have an opportunity to learn how to handle challenges such as route choice when there multiple levels and uncrossable features.
