Event Overview
The format of this evening event makes it suitable for both adult beginners and experienced adult orienteers alike. Juniors may only participate if accompanied by an adult. Walk or run and see how many locations you can find within the one hour time limit. The map is not very technical at this event – click here for a sample of the simple map type used!

Event Location
Registration: At the Britannia Pub, Hackney, 360 Victoria Park Road, London, E9 7BT. http://www.drinkinhackney.co.uk/britannia Walk in the main door and turn left.
Public Transport: London Overground train to Hackney Wick then about a 10 minute walk from the station along Victoria Park Road. Central Line tube to Mile End then cross the road to Grove Road bus station and get on the 277 to Victoria Park village. From here walk 5 minutes east down Victoria Park Road.

Registration & Start: 1830 – 1930
Courses Close: 21:00
Courses
A one hour score course, with a 20 points penalty per minute or part minute late. All the control sites are easily visible numbers on street furniture e.g lampposts, benches, signs, Postboxes. Controls will be worth 10, 20, 30 or 40 points, mostly, but not exclusively according to how far away they are.
Results
Results will be available after the event at www.chig.org.uk.
Map & Terrain
The map is 1:12,500, black and white, with only streets and paths marked. The terrain is a mixture of green spaces and housing estates with no contour detail.
SI timing in use. Dibbers available if you have not brought your own.
The map and clue sheet will be on separate pieces of A4 paper. An A4 map bag will be available on request.
Equipment
You are advised to bring a torch and compass. The traffic is generally not heavy or fast, but light coloured clothing for extra visibility is advised.
Entries
CHIG senior members £2, other members of BOF Affiliated clubs £3. Others £4.
Juniors are not allowed to run street events unless accompanied by an adult.
