Maps

Many thanks to all of you who returned maps so that others could enjoy a run today. Our map order went to the printers before we heard of the cancellation of SMOC’s event. To request a map to be spent to you, please email curtis.rosemount@sky.com with your name and course, a preference for PDF or paper copy, and if you wish a postal copy please let us know the address to send it to.

Organisers Report

A big thank you to all competitors and club helpers for making today’s orienteering event at Wormley Woods a great success.
The weather was definitely in our favour, hence the Al fresco registration and download. ( I won’t say anything about the gusts of wind and our club tent). We had 238 competitors, some 100 more than originally anticipated, so apologies if there were any delays at registration, the start or download. The very late cancellation of the SMOC event was very much a mixed blessing, as we ran out of maps on the brown, blue and green courses. Fortunately us orienteers a a fairly easy going lot and we were able to recycle a number of maps.

Thanks also to Paradise Wildlife Park for providing a car park more than large enough for our expanded requirements, for power supply for our computers and the use of toilets and refreshments on the main site. perhaps a few stayed to look around their wares.
Finally, thanks to The Woodland Trust for providing a well managed woods.
