Mike Brett awarded Maycraft Trophy

At the 2014 Club Dinner, Mike Brett has been awarded the Maycraft Trophy in recognition of his recent significant contribution to the club. The presentation of the trophy was made at the Club’s Annual Dinner, held at Cafe Rouge in Loughton on Friday 5 December 2014.

Mike’s nomination for the award followed a year where he had planned the Mitre at Epping East, a particularly challenging task this year due in part to deer movement in the forest imposing certain restrictions and Mike spend many hours devising courses that were very well received at the event in November. Mike also planned the Southern Championships at Epping East in 2012 and prior to that served as club captain for a number of years. Mike continues to compete regularly at high level events around the UK and is third most highly ranked CHIG member in the BOF rankings as at 5 December 2014.
