Good morning, today is the day for CHIG’s orienteering event at Hainault Forest Country Park. Courses open at 10:30 and we will have updates from the event on this liveblog during the event. You can also follow us on Twitter CHIG_OC

A busy weekend for club members! After Saturday’s club training at High Beach, 6 CHIGs were in action at Saxon’s event at Ightham (results here) while 5 CHIGs competed at the Midland Championships at Sherwood Forest (results here).

At the HH SE League event & SE Long Championships at Ashridge North, Mike Brett came 3rd (M50L) while Kate Brett was 2nd (W45L), both taking home two South-East medals.  Robin Campbell, Ros West and Jennifer Taylor also won silver on M75L, W65L and W70L respectively. CHIGs in the forest this weekend at Chalkney Wood (SOS) were Tony Maycraft, Alan Brett, Chris Marshall and Thomas Elgood. Results here. At Broadstone Warren (SO) were Tom Edelsten, Jakob Petersen, Irene Petersen, Robin Campbell and Ruby Campbell. Results here. This followed a well attended club training at Chigwell School on Saturday led by Tim Dedman and focused on compass work followed by a mini sprint event.

As a point of clarification, a couple of runners have failed to punch the controls on both sides of the road crossing (ie 133 and 132) in both directions. These competitors will be marked as mis-punched as they have failed to ensure that they have visited all controls (despite them being a voided leg).
