As in most orienteering events, the first concern for the organiser is adequate car parking.

Our District event back in 2003 utilized the smaller car parks on Loughton High Street with an overflow. This time around a larger car park was needed. Thanks to Roding Valley High School for providing such a good venue. Car parking for some 420 competitors was just about sufficient, even allowing for the congregation of a south African church. The school building also had the advantage of a dry venue and toilets (no separate cost of hiring!).

Apologies for the long walk to the start but it was unavoidable. At least the clothing dump and finish were en route.

Apologies also for the non availability of control description sheets. These were subsequently found at the Event Centre after the event. Ooops!

Thanks to the numerous CHIG helpers who helped to make this event happen. also thanks to the SN member who assisted at the car park. Perhaps a vocation?

Thanks also to the local St John Ambulance members who were available. I understand they did not need to treat anyone, despite that heavy hail shower.

The shoes left at the car park have now been claimed.

Ray Curtis.
