Captain’s Blog – January 2007
Not sure if this counts as a blog, but the name sounds trendy, so that’s what I’ve decided to call my (hopefully) regular report on CHIG activities. I plan to report on “notable” individual performances and all club/relay competitions in which CHIG takes part.
My criteria for what counts as “notable” is bound to be a little subjective. I intend to mention all top 3 placings at Regional+ events, partly as they’re easy to spot. What are not so easy for me to spot are runs which don’t fit into this category but are nonetheless noteworthy – good or bad. I noticed that one competitor at the Lincolnshire Bomber City Race last weekend was disqualified due to a “Dangerous Route”. He owned up to the controller when he realised he’d crossed an “uncrossable” crag (see discussion on www.nopesport.com). That would definitely count! So if you have a run where you beat your arch-rival, or one where you got stuck in a marsh and were rescued by squirrels, let me know. Anonymous tip-offs very welcome.
